Born New Orleans, LA 1945, began playing snare drum in middle school, played in a R&R band same time. Practiced hard & recruited by "The Greatest Band in The South" Mac Rebennack ( Mac later became Dr. John) & The Skyliners in '62. Recorded with Mac & others many times at world famous Cosimo's studio in NOLA and during that time, at mac's urging, developed the original & 1st Funk beats. Some of my recordings on Youtube: on drums: Talk That Talk w/ mac & Ronnie Barron- the 1st Funk tune recorded/ Storm Warning w/ mac (my best), Preacher's Daughter w/ Roland Stone- also recorded as Junko Partner/ Pass The Hatchet w/ Roger & The Gypsies - used in "6" Movie soundtracks to date/ Gypsy Woman w/ Eddie Powers (a no. 1 hit), On Guitar w/ my own trio The Plastic Blues Band- One Week Ago Today.....and perhaps 100 more.
